Biogram 2 is part of a unique new program studying photo sharing behavior and biometrics and how integration of biometric data with social media could affect the way people connect with each other. The study sponsored by University of Southern California (USC) Center for Body Computing aims to understand how public sharing of health data influences relationships and interactions on the digital platform.
Participants are allowed to embed biometric data, starting with heart rate into images that they share on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Participants will answer surveys and phone sensor data will be collected to track Apple Health data. Data shared through Biogram 2 researchkit ap will help in understanding how biometrics like heart rate may have a connection to social media experience.
It would be definitely interesting to learn whether heart rate shared on a photo in a photo-sharing community would help people relate to each other and therefore lead to more connections.
